Old Brathay has one main store nearby, Tesco Ambleside Market Place Express. There are a few pubs and bars nearby, including: Ambleside Tap Yard and Ice and Slice, Ambleside Tavern, Golden Rule Hotel, Rigg Cottage, Royal Oak, The Flying Fleece, Unicorn Hotel.
